The General U.S. Policy Documents provides access to homeland security-related policy documents from various federal agencies. Scroll through the list to browse through the documents. 

1. This section is updated upon document availability. Review the date beneath the section title to determine the last time the section was updated. 
2. Click on the arrow to expand the document summary. 
3. Click on the 'Open Resource [pdf]' link to review the full-text document
4. Click the '{Open full abstract)' link to review the document abstract. 
5. This line indicates the document's authoring body.
6. This line indicates the document's publication date. 

The HSDL database provides access to homeland security-related key legislation on the federal level. Users may browse by topic or search within all documents. 

1. The page defaults to browse all documents. 
2. Select 'Search all Congressional & Legislative Resources' to conduct keyword searches within the collection. 
3. This line indicates when the collection was last updated. The relevant legislation is added when available. 
4. This section allows users to jump to specific topic collections. 
5. This indicates the title of the legislation. 
6. Click 'Show Summary' to collapse a summary of the legislative document. 
7. Click '[Open Full Abstract)' to review the document abstract.
8. Click the 'Open resource [pdf]' link to review the full-text document. 
9. This line indicates the publishing body. 
10. This line indicates the date the legislation became law.

Search All Congressional and Legislative Resources

Basic Search

To search within the entire Key Legislation collection, select the 'Search Congressional and Legislative Resources' tab on the main page. Selecting this option will redirect to the basic search page. 

1. To conduct an advanced keyword search, select the 'Advanced Search' link. This will redirect to the Advanced Search page (see bottom image). 
2. Select this dropdown menu to identify the appropriate search field. Options include searching by Full Text; Author; Title; Title or Summary; Publisher; or Series. 
3. Enter keywords into this search field. 
4. The buttons below the search fields allow users to filter by Publisher, Series, Format, or Author. 
5. Results are organized by relevance but may also be organized by date. 
6. Users with an account may create alerts to receive an email notification when new legislation is added to the collection. 

Advanced Search Page

This page provides homeland security-related documents regarding National Security. Documents are organized by topic. 

1. This line indicates the date the collection was last updated. Documents are added to the collection when available. 
2. Select these topic buttons to jump to the relevant topic. 
3. Topic section. 
4. This line indicates the document title. 
5. Click on 'Show Summary' to collapse the document summary. 
6. Click on the 'Open Resource [pdf]' link to view the full-text document. 
7. Click on '(Open Full Abstract)' to review the document abstract. 
8. This line indicates the publishing governmental body. 
9. This line indicates the publication date. 

This page provides homeland security-related Presidential Executive Orders (EOs) and Presidential Directives (PDs). 

1. To conduct an advanced keyword search, select the 'Advanced Search' link. This will redirect to the Advanced Search page (see bottom image).
