The assigned reading focuses on the definition of personality as well as the central issues that require consideration. The reading provides an overview of five basic theoretical approaches to personality including psychodynamic, trait and cognitive/social learning viewpoints. Students will be able to define a theory and gain an understanding of the purpose of theories.
