This article explains the number of cases that don’t make it to court. Knowing that only 10% of cases go through criminal court and 90% are settled via plea bargaining, plea bargaining should be seen as the new criminal trial, and students should know all about how plea bargaining may hurt the criminal justice system. This article proposes a reform to the plea-bargaining system.
