  • Autism Society
    • This organization is dedicated to serving the needs of children on the autism spectrum. There are chapters located throughout the United States.
  • California Association of Resource Specialists and Special Education Teachers (CARS+)
    • CARS+ is the only organization whose sole purpose is to represent the unique needs of resource specialists and other special education teachers. The California Association of Resource Specialists was founded in 1981 as a non-profit association dedicated to the support of resource specialists. In February of 1996, the organization voted to expand its active membership to include all special education teachers.
  • California State Standards
    • This web site contains K-12 California State Standards for all curriculum areas.
  • Computer Using Educators (CUE)
    • CUE provides leadership and support to advance student achievement in the educational technology community.
  • Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
    • CEC has been established to serve the needs of special education teachers, parents and students. It is the most comprehensive professional organization in the special education field.
  • Dealing with Difficult Behaviors
    • This resource contains detailed and specific strategies for dealing with a wide variety of challenging behaviors. There is a registration process for using this website.
  • IDEA, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
    • This is the website established by the federal government pertaining to special education laws.
  • Iris Center
    • Web site contains resources for curriculum, assessment, lesson planning, classroom management and the RTI model.
  • National Center For Learning Disabilities
    • The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) works to ensure that the nation's 15 million children, adolescents, and adults with learning disabilities have every opportunity to succeed in school, work, and life.
  • Regional Centers for Developmental Disabilities
    • The California Regional Center System has been established to serve the needs of students with developmental disabilities.
  • SEACO, Special Education Administrators of County Offices
    • This website contains curriculum guides aligned with the California State Standards for Moderate/Severe students. Scroll down to "Training Materials".
  • The Special Edge Newsletter
    • The Special EDge is a publication of the California Department of Education's Special Education Division. It is designed to inform and support parents, educators, and other service providers on special education topics, focusing on research-based practices, legislation, technical support, and current resources. You may receive this free publication by completing the application form included in the website.
