This scale is a useful conceptualization of self-assessment as students understand their current study abilities AND how the contingencies of studying relate to emotional experiences such as depression and anxiety, common among students with busy personal and professional lives. It is especially important to consider the emotional experiences of professional development in the context of finishing graduate school AND preventing career burnout.
