Dimension of Human Behavior Cover Page

Hutchison, E. and Charlesworth, L. W. (2024). Dimensions of human behavior: Person and environment (7th ed.). Sage Publications.

Access your Redshelf book by clicking on the Getting Started module in your course, or click on the Bookshelf link at the top of your course.

  • Read Chapter 1: Human Behavior: A Multidimensional Approach
  • Read Chapter 2: Theoretical Perspectives on Human Behavior

Note: As you read these chapters be aware of the ways they lay the groundwork for the idea that every person, regardless of position in society, has fundamental human rights for all.  They examine how a culture's structures and values, including social, economic, political, and cultural exclusions, may oppress, marginalize, alienate, or create privilege and power.

Reminder - Each chapter has a box at the end titled “Key Terms” with the page #s of the definition next to each term; these are a great reference tool for you to keep track of as you’re learning all these theories.
