A lighthearted overview of the purpose of in-text citations and reference lists. To embed, right-click on the video and select "Copy link and thumbnail".

Tutorials and Quick Guides

Academic Writer's Tutorials and Quick Guides can be accessed from the "Learn" tab. They can't be embedded directly into a Blackboard class, but you can create and embed a linked thumbnail and short description. When you click on the Embed Link option that appears at the top of each tutorial page, you'll be shown a preview, and given the embed link. The code should look like this in your course:

Sample References

Academic Writer has a large bank of sample references from the Manual itself, accessible via the "Learn" tab. Clicking on the Embed Link will produce a code block that can be pasted in Blackboard; the reference will appear in perfectly-formatted APA style, including the hanging indent.

Sample Tables and Figures, Sample Papers

Academic Writer has a number of sample tables and figures, also accessible through the "Learn" tab; you can also find a number of sample papers here. Clicking on the Embed Link for these materials will produce a code block that can be pasted in Blackboard; a clickable thumbnail and explanatory text will appear on the course page.

Linking Directly to the Manual

Academic Writer does not provide a searchable version of the Manual, but many sections can be accessed by clicking on the "Details" option for tutorials, guides, and samples. You can use the link in your browser address bar to hotlink to these sections in your course. We have provided links to some important sections on the "APA Resources" tab of this webpage.
