You will revisit this chapter numerous times throughout the duration of the course. This chapter will provide an understanding of the differences between community-based and individual-based traumas. The authors will offer an understanding of the various different types of disasters and cover protective and risk factors related to disasters. Finally, the chapter will offer empirically-informed strategies for interventions that can be used after community-based disasters that will create the foundation of several assignments.
