Slide Tips from Video: 

  • Use slides selectively 
  • Write slides after crafting your message 
  • Write slides that can be understood in 3 seconds or less 
  • Only one message per slide. 
  • Use slides as a visual medium. If necessary, lengthy text should be placed on a supplemental handout.

Slide Tips from Video 

  • Only one message per slide. 
  • Redundancy effect: never put full sentences on slides (text on slides competes with spoken text). 
  • Use font size to draw attention. 
  • Use font contrast to draw attention. / Use dark backgrounds to attention on the presenter. 
  • Limit objects per slide to no more than six.
