The authors provide detailed descriptions of how surveys are used in social work research. This includes specific content on how to construct an effective survey and the common construction mistakes that limit the effectiveness of findings.  The authors also provide detailed information about the many types of sampling options available when designing a research project. There are examples provided for each type of sampling design.
