Diagnosis is a foundation of psychological assessment and treatment planning. For the sake of accuracy and efficacy, experts have proposed an integrative multidimensional approach. The HiTOP model is an alternative to traditional classification. Although this model does not map perfectly to the DSM-5 TR or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10), the taxonomy closely corresponds with them and can be helpful when conceptualizing performers and athletes through a cultural context.
