Larson, R. (2017). Calculus: An Applied Approach (10th ed.). Cengage Learning.

Read:

  • Chapter 8: Sections 8.1-8.5, 9.1-9.3

    • Section 8.1 Radian Measure of Angles

    • Section 8.2 The Trigonometric Functions

    • Section 8.3 Graphs of Trigonometric Functions

    • Section 8.4 Derivatives of Trigonometric Functions

    • Section 8.5 Integrals of Trigonometric Functions

    • Section 9.1 Discrete Probability

    • Section 9.2 Continuous Random Variables

    • Section 9.3 Expected Value and Variance

The above sections give clear explanations of the characteristics, differentiation, and integrations of trigonometric functions and their real-life applications. They also present both discrete and continuous random variable concepts in probability and further demonstrated the evaluation of expected values and variances and how to apply them in real-life probability problems.
