Chapter 4 – Business-Level Strategies: This chapter is important for your learning because it covers business-level strategies and how to align commitments and actions so the organization can gain a larger portion of the market through a competitive advantage. You will learn about the five business-level strategies that can distinguish an organization as a leader in the competitive market. Finally, you will learn about a business model or framework for the business to capture value (Hitt et al., 2024).
Chapter 5 – Competitive Rivalry and Competitive Dynamics: This chapter is important for this week because it covers competitors. Understanding what a competitor is, competitive rivalry between companies, and competitive behaviors is very important when developing a competitive business strategy. You will also learn about the building blocks for competitive analysis (Hitt et al., 2024).
Chapter 6 – Corporate-Level Strategy: This chapter is important because you will learn what corporate-level strategy’s purpose is in business. Understanding how to identify and apply different levels of diversification is needed when developing actions for the business. You also learn about the incentives that can encourage value for the organization and customers (Hitt et al., 2024).
Chapter 8 – International Strategy: This chapter is important to understand how trends and incentives correlate with global environments when preparing to expand internationally. It is very important to know the political, legal, and any economic risks that may be encountered when developing strategies in an international market. Common problems encountered are reviewed and goals for outcomes are discussed (Hitt et al., 2024).
