Chapter 3 – E-commerce Infrastructure: The Internet, the Web, and the Mobile Platform

This chapter is very important for learning a broad view of how the Internet works and the systems that connect to the Internet. The systems are the connections that drive the messages from one place to another. Understanding this entire system is important when running your E-Commerce business. This does not replace the in-depth knowledge that IT technicians have to repair your systems. This chapter will help you overall. An introduction to mobile apps is also presented.

Chapter 4 – Building an E-commerce Presence: Websites, Mobile Sites, and Apps

It is important to understand this chapter when developing your e-commerce presence. Many decisions need to be made to have an efficient and effective website. For example, choosing a web server, deciding on the best software for your needs, and buying the appropriate hardware. Before determining these questions, you must have a vision or idea of what you want to accomplish. For this step, a mission and vision statement and an understanding of your target audience and market space are needed.

Chapter 5 – E-commerce Security and Payment Systems

This chapter is extremely important to read and understand. The changing environment of cyber criminals is pervasive and difficult to stop.
