Using game-based approaches can have a strong impact on students in PE. For PE teachers, using UBD to create game-based approaches works well because of the key aligned features in both strategies.

Comparing and analyzing the effectiveness of scripted vs. Understanding by Design (UbD) created curriculum. Findings discovered that students taught using either curricula showed growth. However, UbD was far more effective, in large part, based on the relationship the teacher had with students.
