Sustainability: A Comprehensive Foundation

By reading Chapter 2, you will discover the history of the environmental movement in the U.S. divided within three major periods: the American conservation movement, the emergence of environmental risk management, and the integration of social and economic factors into the sustainability paradigm. You will be exposed to a discussion on public health and the impact of non-sustainable development.

In this web exploration, you will learn by using the first tab of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) search engine organizations you can find the most popular topics of interest and have an A-Z index for specific topics. You should review each of the eight topics to research support for your policy project. Then, using the second “Laws & Regulations” tab, search “Policy and Guidance” topic. Review the Significant Guidance Documents there to research support for your policy project.

Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

After reading these results of a meeting of the United Nations (UN) in September 2015, you will learn the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to spur action for the coming years. As you read the agenda, consider the ambition and extent of these resolutions to research whether they lend support for your policy project.
