There is great interest by both scientists and the general public in understanding the etiology of personality in an individual. The assigned chapters and the article will provide the student with an understanding of genetic influences and the relationship between early temperament and personality. On the other side of the discussion, they will gain an understanding of the importance of early experiences and family environment including the parental environment. One of the outcome variables explored is behavioral control.
