This article shows how racial disparity is rampant within the criminal justice system in at least three parts: policing, juries, and prison population. This article is important to this week because of the information about prison population. Reform is addressed to reduce racial disparity.

This article shows the state of California’s prison system after the Landmark Court case, Plata v. Brown, where the U.S. Supreme Court found that California was violating prisoner’s cruel and unusual punishment clause of the 8th Amendment because of overcrowding. This article shows what happened after California was told to release a large portion of the prisoners.

This article shows the aftermath of Miller v. AL and Montgomery v. LA. The states now have to offer those, who were sentenced as juvenile life-without possibility-of-parole, new sentencing hearings that must consider certain aspects this time. However, there is one unclear word that has to be defined by the re-sentencing court.
