This article highlights the impact that the digital age has had on consumer good companies. It provides students with information regarding how the data that companies collect from their consumers impact the organizations’ processes. Based on an in-depth qualitative analysis, the author develops the consumer goods company innovation (CGCI) conceptual framework, which illustrates how digital firms help consumer goods companies to test new products before they are launched on the market and innovate.
