Read Section III (Current Practice Considerations; Chapters 14-17), which examines some of the financial and reimbursement issues associated with private practice.

Johnson, J. E., & Rulo, K. (2019). Problem in the profession: How and why writing skills in nursing must be improved. Journal of Professional Nursing, 35(2019), 57-61.

Although this article concerns the profession of nursing, it is directly relevant to MFT. The authors examined writing skills necessary in the nursing field and strategies for developing and enhancing these skills.

Woolley, S. R. (2010). Purposes, diversities, and futures in MFT doctoral education. Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, 36, 282-290.

This is a balanced discussion of the doctoral education in MFT from the perspective of an MFT faculty member who has hired multiple MFTs and has a vision for what the field needs.
