-Chapter 9- Focusing the Counseling Session: Contextualizing and Broadening the Story
-Chapter 10- Empathic Confrontation: Identifying and Challenging Client Conflict
-Chapter 11- Reflection of Meaning and Interpretation/Reframing; Helping Clients Restory their Lives.

MODULE 3 - Whereas the previous module explored attending and listening skills, this module will spotlight influencing skills and empathic confrontation. The competency objectives for module 3 include identifying contextual factors, increasing cognitive and emotional complexity, and building frames of reference. The knowledge gleaned and gained from these counseling practices will enable counselors and MPCs to stoke creative change, expand the possibilities of restorying, and aid in resolving client issues and concerns. Module 3 also focuses on empathic and skilled-supportive confrontation, along with ways to overcome incongruities. Adding these conflict resolution skills to your skillset will help you direct and lead clients to new, healthier, and holistic thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and meanings.
