This is important research for leaders working in mental health settings.

This is an interesting article that will encourage some self-reflection. Lots of research has been done on the relationship between leadership and the well-being of followers. This meta-analysis looks at research between leadership behaviors and the self-reports of the leaders’ well-being indicators.

Changing Who Has a Seat and Voice at the Table: How the Academic Pediatric Association is Responding to Systemic Racism. Academic Pediatrics, 22(3), 352–355.
This article discusses the efforts of the Academic Pediatrics Association to take a look at their profession through a lens of anti-racism. The look at the academic pediatric health profession and consider structural racism as well as discrimination in the field. This discussion leads to a consideration of operationalizing a more equitable system of access and achievement that may be reproducible for other fields.

The authors of this study were concerned by the underrepresentation of African Americans in rehabilitation counseling, especially in leadership roles. This qualitative study involves interviews with black leaders in rehabilitation settings to discuss barriers faced, strategies for success, and recommendations for future leaders.

This article discusses the commitment of academic leadership to provide a inclusive and equitable workplace environment. The timely article then considers the obstacles of crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic and systemic violence and racism evidenced in recent years in prioritizing inclusivity. The article presents actions steps for demonstrating equitable leadership.
