International Standards

Standards are documents that outline the processes and best practices for specific tasks. As the ISO puts it, a standard is "a formula that describes the best way of doing something," like "making a product, managing a process, delivering a service or supplying materials." Although many standards are freely-available online, some are offered only by subscription or must be purchased individually. Contact the Library if you need help finding the text of a standard.

Conferences

AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence
The AAAI Library contains a number of high-quality proceedings in the field of artificial intelligence. Included in the AAAI Member’s Library are proceedings of the AAAI National Conference on Artificial Intelligence, the Innovative Application of Artificial Intelligence Conference, the Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Conference, the AI Planning Systems Conference, the Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology Conference, and the Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society Conference, among others.

Professional Associations

Professional associations often provide research, education, and professional development resources (such as conferences, online webinars, blogs, and listservs). You might find the networking and job hunting tools they offer useful.

Public Library of Science (PLOS)
Founded as a nonprofit in 2001, PLOS has been a front runner in the Open Access movement. Their journals are peer-reviewed, internationally recognized, and provide impact metrics down to the article level. Content is available immediately, allowing fast, free access to download and distribute.
Research Data Alliance (RDA)
The Research Data Alliance (RDA) was launched as a community-driven initiative in 2013 by the European Commission, the United States Government's National Science Foundation and National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Australian Government’s Department of Innovation with the goal of building the social and technical infrastructure to enable open sharing and re-use of data.
