Proofreading Service

This guide provides information related to registering and scheduling proofreading sessions.

Student Success is the central pillar of the university’s strategic plan, and the foundation of ASC’s mission to develop scholars and practitioners. The goal of this service is to provide students with a trustworthy alternative to hiring outside editors who might not be familiar with our institution's process or align with our academic integrity. The ASC proofreaders understand the expectations of academic writing, and equip students through written and video feedback toward their authentic scholarly voice. 

All ASC proofreaders have earned doctoral degrees and are experienced in supporting diverse writing needs. From citation requirements to heading hierarchy, from passive voice to verb tense, and from unclear antecedents to anthropomorphism, we can help. Let our team of APA experts be the trustworthy resource you need.

Service List

30-Minute Service: $20.00

  • Citation Review
    • Reviewing and correcting APA formatting, spacing, and punctuation for citations. Feedback will encompass at least 5 pages of the document.
  • Tables and Figures (APA formatting)
    • Correcting 3–5 tables and/or figures to APA formatting, shading, borders, and labels.

 

1-Hour Service: $34.00

  • Reference Review
    • Analyzing references per APA formatting, including required content, font style, spacing, doi links, and changes from APA 6th edition guidelines. Detailed changes will be provided in the initial pages to apply throughout.
  • Single Chapter Review
    • A general overview of one chapter from a dissertation proposal or manuscript with emphasis on formatting per dissertation template, a basic review of citations and references per APA, and prominent grammatical and structural concerns.
  • Assignment Review
    • A general overview of one assignment with emphasis on formatting per student paper template, a basic review of citations and references per APA, and prominent grammatical and structural concerns.
  • Sentence Mechanics
    • Through the focused reading of at least 3 pages, instances of passive language and verb tense updates will be identified and improved into a more active voice.
  • Table of Contents
    • Developing a Table of Contents with active links to level 1 and 2 headings in the dissertation.

 

2-Hour Service: $65.00

  • Dissertation Proposal Review
    • A general overview of the dissertation manuscript with emphasis on formatting per dissertation template, a basic review of citations and references per APA 7, and prominent grammatical and structural concerns. The proofreader will identify 2-3 primary themes for improvement. Proofreading sessions do not review content or research resource data.
  • Prospectus Review
    • A general overview of the prospectus with emphasis on formatting per dissertation template, a basic review of citations and references per APA, and prominent grammatical and structural concerns.

 

3-Hour Service: $100.00

  • Dissertation Manuscript Review
    • A general overview of the dissertation manuscript with emphasis on formatting per dissertation template, a basic review of citations and references per APA 7, and prominent grammatical and structural concerns. The proofreader will identify 2-3 primary themes for improvement. Proofreading sessions do not review content or research resource data.

 

Sprint to the Finish: Complimentary Review

  • One-time complimentary 3-hour review. Coupon Request Form
    • The Sprint to the Finish review is limited to students who have an approved final dissertation manuscript draft.
