OER Spotlight

This page highlights some interesting and unusual open educational resources. OER include a diverse rage of materials, including textbooks, videos, simulations, etc. The OER listed here are just a sampling of the thousands of resources available. Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning (COERLL)
"The Center for Open Educational Resources & Language Learning (COERLL) was inaugurated in 2010 as part of the U.S. Department of Education’s Title VI program (National Foreign Language Resource Centers). The overall mission of these federally-funded centers is to improve the teaching and learning of foreign languages by producing resources (materials and best practices) that can be profitably employed in a variety of settings. Today, COERLL is funded by the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin."

The Community Tool Box from the University of Kansas Center for Community Health and Development is a free online resource for those working to build healthier communities and bring about social change.
Cornell Law School LII Legal Information Institute
Extensive legal collection that includes definitions, explanations, case law, statues, and other legal information.
NASA Colleges and Universities
NASA has a wealth of STEM Resources for Colleges, Universities, and Technical and Vocational Institutions. Most NASA materials are in the public domain.
Noba Collection
Noba was created by Drs. Ed and Carol Diener. It is a collection of openly licensed textbooks and educational materials focusing on psychology.
Open Access at The Met
"In February 2017, The Met introduced its Open Access Initiative which makes all images of public-domain artworks and basic data on all accessioned works in its collection available for unrestricted use under Creative Commons Zero (CC0). Now anyone can download, share, and remix images and data about artworks in The Met collection"
PhET Interactive Simulations
"Founded in 2002 by Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman, the PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations. PhET sims are based on extensive education research and engage students through an intuitive, game-like environment where students learn through exploration and discovery."
