Dwyer et al. (2020) discuss the use of police liaison programs for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBTI) in Australia. This article explores reasons that LGBTI individuals may not use these liaisons and recommends improvements to the program. This article discusses a population that is overrepresented within the criminal justice system, both in the U.S. as well as other countries and explores issues that are present when attempting to improve relationships between law enforcement and minoritized communities.
