In this article, critical race theory is used as a way to conceptualize the experiences of Black social work students whose experience is clearly different from that of White social work students and those of other POC. Diversity education in social work can sometimes feel as if it is relevant only to White students who will likely be working with clients with different racial and ethnic identities. This piece is a step toward recognizing that, though it might be somewhat different, diversity education is equally important for BIPOC social work students.
