Implicit Bias Reflects Systemic RacismPayne, K., & Hannay, J.W. (2021). Implicit bias reflects systemic racism. Trends in Cognitive Sciences, 25 (11), 927-936. doi.org/10.1016/j.tics.2021.08.001
Payne and Hannay do a particularly good job of demonstrating the blurred line or connection between the macro-level level concept of systemic racism discussed in the previous lesson and the micro-level or individual nature of implicit bias. As noted previously, the distinction between these levels of theory and practice is useful in our conceptual study, but is less apparent and less relevant in practice.
