This session is designed to introduce students to the fundamental phases of evolving raw qualitative data into themes through a process of robust and trustworthy analysis. During the session, the student will learn about familiarization with the data, coding, and creation of categories, patterns, and themes. The session will also include a demonstration of varied coding typologies along with a discussion of the key factors of consideration in how codes are created. The Qualitative Analysis and NVivo group session will help students better understand the phases of qualitative analysis. The session will promote competency in how to organize and prepare data for analysis. Additionally, the session will ensure a firm understanding of how important coding is as a foundation for the analysis process. Students will also be able to ask questions related to NVivo and will see examples of the coding and organization in NVivo live in the session. The session will encourage discussion and engagement with other learners through a live guided practice activity.
