Note: Do not confuse constructive research with constructionist research.

The constructive research method consists of various stages:
(1) finding a practically relevant problem with research potential;
(2) obtain a comprehensive and general understanding of the research topic;
(3) innovate – construct a solution idea;
(4) demonstrate that the proposed solution works (quantitative method for a PhD);
(5) show the research contribution of the solution concept and its theoretical connections;
(6) examine the scope of applicability of the proposed solution.
