In Nexis Uni, you can conduct searches in natural language or by using Boolean terms and connectors.
Boolean Operators and Connectors
To search by filter, click on the All Nexis Uni link to the right of the search box at the top of the screen. This will expand filters with which you can select to search. You can filter your search by Content Collection, Cases and Codes, News, Practice Areas & Topics, Date Range, or pre-selected Favorites. Please note that you will need to register for an account to save favorite filters.
Likewise, you may use the Guided Search section located beneath the search box. This provides the capability of searching
In addition to adding filters to your search, clicking on Advanced Search beneath the search box at the top of the page will take you to the advanced search template. You have the option of selecting advanced search templates for searching All Nexis Uni, News, Company and Financial, and Legal. Use the Definitions & Help for questions about term connectors, proximity connectors, and search fields.
Click on the "Get a Doc Assistance" link to search by citation, cases by party name, or cases by docket number. This link is located beneath the search box at the top of the page.

If you're searching within a particular subject area, select one of the practice areas & topics to filter your search.
The Legal advanced search template enables users to search directly within Nexis Uni's specific legal collections. Search Administrative Codes and Regulations, Administrative Materials, Briefs, Pleadings, and Motions, Cases, Law Reviews and Journals, Legal News, and within Statutes and Legislation.
