In Nexis Uni, you can conduct searches in natural language or by using Boolean terms and connectors.
Boolean Operators and Connectors
To browse content within Nexis Uni, select "All Sources" under the "Menu" tab. Accessing the "All Sources" list is helpful when you want to search specific sources, or if you want to browse what is available within the database.
Sources are organized alphabetically. Use the filters on the left panel to narrow down by category, jurisdiction, practice areas & topics, and publisher. Click on the source title to browse content or add as a filter to search within the publication. Click on the "i" to the right to learn about scope and content.
In addition to searching within specific sources, you have the option to search within one of the three listed disciplines. To conduct a subject-specific search, select "Menu" and then click on the desired subject. You can also click on one of the subject boxes at the bottom of the search page.
To conduct a basic keyword search, enter your search terms using natural language searching or terms and connectors into the search box at the top of the page. For general search tips, please see the General Search Tips box to the left of this page. You may also click on "Tips" located beneath the search box on the Nexis Uni home page.
You have the option of searching all of Nexis Uni or adding a jurisdiction or other optional filter. Please see the Advanced Search section to learn more about applying filters to your search.
