- Students should review chapters 9 (intelligence and measurement pages 296-314) and 11 (personality assessment – an overview pages 389-424). Chapter 9 includes a review of intelligence theories including factor-analytic theory, Thurstone’s primary mental abilities, Cattell’s general intelligence, Caroll’s three-stratum theory, the Cattell-Horn-Cattell theory, neuropsychological theories, alternative theories to intelligence and corresponding intelligence assessments. Chapter 11 includes a review of personality theories including personality traits, types, states, Cattell’s 16 PF, Eysenck’s dimensions, Waller and Zavala’s seven-factor model, Costa and McCrae’s Big Five, and corresponding personality assessments.
