Notes

LibCRM is currently used by the Library team to manage projects and interactions with faculty/University departments.

Managing Projects in LibCRM

Projects in LibCRM allow you to create, organize, and collaborate on related tasks. The NU Library team uses Projects in LibCRM to keep track of long-term projects.

Create new project in LibCRM

To create a new project:

  •  Login to LibCRM and proceed to the Projects tab.
  • Click the New Project button located in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  • Provide the following details:

    • Project Title: A brief, but descriptive title of your project.

    • Brief Description (optional): If you would like to provide more context around your project, you can do so using this field. Alternatively, use the Details section.

    • Start Date: Designate when the project will commence.

    • Due Data: Designate when the project will be completed.

    • Status: Most likely, you will select Active as the status. Change this field to Completed or Inactive as you progress with the project and as applicable.

    • Project Members: Designate other members of the library team who may be collaborating on this project with you.

    • Associated Records: If the project is a request from an NU faculty or staff member, you can designate that individual here. (Note: You may need to add them as a New Profile if they are not currently in the LibCRM system. Additionally, if you communicate via email with the project requestor and want to track those correspondences, ensure that you BCC the following email address on every correspondence to keep record within LibCRM: ncu@int.libcrm.com. All other interactions via LibApps will be automatically tracked and added to LibCRM).

    • Details: Provide as much detail as you like on your project. Additionally, use this section to note time spent on the project as well as milestones/progress/dates.

    • Owner: Designate yourself as the owner of the project.

    • Parent Project: If this is a sub-project that evolved out of a former project, you can associate it with that “parent project.”

You can edit or delete your project at any time using the Actions icons found to the right of every project title.
