CITI Requirement

Before submitting an IRB application, all researchers must complete online training through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) programPlease plan ahead when completing CITI training. CITI certification expires 3 years after the date of completion.

Dissertation Committee Chairs and faculty/staff researchers at NU, and any co-investigator/research assistants are required to obtain and hold current CITI certification at all times.

Please follow the instructions below to meet this requirement. If you experience technical issues with the CITI site, please contact CITI directly.

The current requirement for CITI training is the Social & Behavioral Educational (SBE) course (former NCU researchers) or the Researchers - Social and Behavioral Focus course (researchers that have always been affiliated with NU).

We will continue to accept either training certification with your IRB application as long as it has not expired!
