NU Faculty Resources Guide

Welcome to NU!

Welcome On BoardNew faculty will work with Human Resources to complete new hire paperwork. On the date of hire, new faculty will begin their onboarding training program. This will vary depending on the modality in which you teach.

Group Modality: In this model, students take courses in cohorts in NU Brightspace. Each course typically lasts 4 weeks and students all start and end at the same time during these four week terms. Faculty get a new course offering in NU Brightspace each term.

Individual Modality: In this model, students take courses in NCUOne. The can start a course any Monday. One-to-one courses are typically 8 or 12 weeks in length. Faculty have one course offering for each course they teach. The faculty can view all the students taking the course in their course offering, but the students do not see each other.

Note: Based on your role and school requirements, you may receive additional training outside of the standard onboarding training program.
