Discussions can be adjusted so that students can't see other students' posts until they post themselves. This prevents intentional and unintentional plagiarism. It also leads to a more diverse set of responses. Faculty in NU Brightspace can currently make these updates themselves. Faculty in NCUOne can work with their LXD, if course authoring or request the update via OLIS.
From the discussions list in your course, select the option to Edit Topic for the discussion you'd like to update.
Select the Post & Completion option.
Check the radio button for Learners must start a thread before they can view of reply to other threads. Click on blue Save & Close button when you are done.
