Faculty-Student Interaction Playbook

Created by faculty for faculty!

Begin the process of reporting a violation by submitting the violation to the Office of Student Conduct.

  • For students in the class-based model, the Office of Student Conduct will review the violation and make final determinations on any student code of conduct sanctions. The professor uses their discretion to determine any impact on the student's grade.
  • For students in the one-to-one model, faculty will work with their academic leadership (typically the Associate Dean of Students) to determine the academic next steps or consequences for the student.

Please note: The Artificial Intelligence (AI) detection software tool in Turnitin (and other AI detectors) is unreliable. The score alone is not an indication that AI was used to create the writing and can not be used to charge a student with an Academic Integrity Violation (AIV).
