Academic Success Center Open Study Session
Thursday 5:00-7:00 pm PT and Sunday 3:00-5:00 pm PT
Wanting to meet with an Academic Coach? Need help with scholarly writing, APA Style, or statistics? Struggling with formatting in Word? Join our open study session for support, guidance, and accountability to help you build your way to academic success!
This Zoom session is open to all students. You can work on your assignments with an accountability buddy or two and get support from an Academic Coach. Breakout rooms will be available for peer study groups and those wanting a quiet space to work.

Academic Support Study Session
Monday 3:00-5:00 pm PT
In this Study Session, students can feel comfortable studying and asking questions as they arise. Use this time to hold yourself accountable for planning your week and getting started on the right foot. Join Dr. Justin Geiger for general accountability and support with writing, statistics, and business (including economics and finance) topics during this 2-hour study session.

NVivo Power Hours & Study Session
Sunday 11:00 am-1:00 pm PT
The NVivo study session offers you the opportunity to get guided practice and quick answers to questions on using the software and ensure you are on the right track with coding and analysis. Dr. Mittra can address queries ranging from the basics of importing files and creating codes to the advanced aspects of identifying and creating themes, using visualization tools on NVivo, and using NVivo for writing the Results section in the dissertation.
Students can also join to gain ideas and inspiration from other students’ approaches to NVivo or just use it as a dedicated time for working on NVivo in the virtual presence of a Coach. Through screensharing interactions, students can explore their progress with qualitative data analysis.

“Not Done…YET” Study Session
Tuesday 4:00-6:00 pm PT
Proofreading refines the APA, formatting, and grammar of your writing to ensure your voice shines through. But those guidelines can be hard to keep track of when getting your headings, citations, references, and all the other details lined up. Join this Study Session to refine your work and strengthen your proofreading skills.
During the session, Dr. Meg Roberts is available to provide support, guidance, and feedback on whatever writing or qualitative research challenge you are working through. You will connect with a real person and can share any thoughts or questions. You will leave feeling supported and knowing where to go next.
Come and go as needed between 4 pm and 6 pm Pacific Time on Tuesdays.
Qualitative Queries Study Session
Thursday 2:00-4:00 pm PT
In the Qualitative Queries Study Session, curiosity will be cultivated. There are no “wrong” questions other than those that are not asked! Join Dr. Briana Nicholson to gain insight and awareness of the richness of qualitative approaches and leave with confidence in your chosen methodology, design, or approach.
In addition to providing support with qualitative questions, Dr. Nicholson will also be able to answer general scholarly writing and APA Style related questions during this 2-hour study session.

Dr. B’s ‘Fix-It’ Shop
Friday 5:00-7:00 pm PT
Is your writing in need of a tune-up? Let Dr. Brian Aunkst take care of you! Join this Study Session to review your writing and formatting with a writing coach. You will work out some kinks in your writing and leave feeling more confident in your work.
Dr. Aunkst will be available to answer general scholarly writing and APA Style-related questions during this 2-hour study session. Come and go as needed between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Fridays.
