Scheduled Academic Coaching Sessions

The Academic Success Center observes Pacific Time - PT for scheduled sessions.

	Recorded coaching is asynchronous--you do not meet live with a coach. Students can self-schedule these sessions using the Coaching Scheduler.  Submit the document you want to be reviewed (one per appointment) when you schedule the appointment. You will receive written and video feedback. along with a detailed coaching plan. Feedback is uploaded within two (2) days of the scheduled appointment date. What to expect Recorded Coaching Sessions
	Group coaching is a live, 45-minute session with a coach and up to eight (8) students. Students can self-schedule these sessions using the Coaching Scheduler. Group sessions are held at the same time weekly. Sessions will be interactive and focused on students' specific questions. 	Individual coaching is a live, 45-minute session with you and a coach. Students can self-schedule an individual session or use ASC Chat to discuss additional appointment availability. During an individual session, you can work collaboratively with a coach to master a specific skill based on your unique needs.  You will receive a detailed coaching plan outlining the skill you are working to develop, the next steps in the process, and the date and time of your next session with the coach.  What to expect Individual Sessions
	Alumni Navigator coaching is a live, 45-minute session with you and a navigator.  Alumni Navigators are all NU graduates and serve as mentors for students, equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to unlock their full potential. Students can self-schedule an individual session or use ASC Chat to discuss additional appointment availability. During an individual session, you can work collaboratively with a navigator to maximize your potential inside and outside of the classroom.

ASC Coaching Policy: All students receive personalized coaching plans when attending a recorded, group, or individual sessions. Students will follow their prescribed coaching plan, which will denote the skills, timeline, and frequency of coaching that a student receives.

• Register for Grammarly, Academic Writer, and coaching early on in your program. Use these resources and services often throughout your time at NU.
• Bookmark the Ask a Coach page and refer to it to search FAQs, ask a question, or chat live with an academic coach. 
• Fill out your appointment form before your session, so a coach can personalize that session to fit your specific needs. 
• To ensure your faculty member is updated on your coaching progress, select "Yes" to sending your coaching plans and the faculty member's email address.  
• Before a live session (group or individual), make sure you know where to locate your session link.
• Before a live session (group or individual), make sure you have tried out Zoom and know how to use the program.
• When you schedule a recorded session, be sure to upload a document to avoid having the session canceled. 
• After a session (recorded, group, or individual), make sure to download your personalized coaching plan and follow the next steps. 
• After a session recorded, group, or individual), make sure to locate your session recording on your coaching plan. Listen to the recording to assist you with developing the skill for which you attended coaching.
